CAVTAT
This is a unique location in the Adriatic, an old town on the hill of the wooded peninsula of Rat, whose new centre lies along the coast, completely covered with Mediterranean vegetation, green pine trees and cypresses. It has more than 7 km of coastline, a clean sea, sandy beaches and rocks and beautiful new hotels of high categories. Renovations and attention to the territory of Dubrovnik have rendered Cavtat one of the more popular locations. The fascination of this ancient town dates back to the times of the Republic of Dubrovnik when it built up this place as a base, conferring on the historical centre of Cavtat great honour. The greater part of the historical - cultural monuments belong to the simple but beautiful architecture of the post-René period, with gothic traces: the Princes Palace, the fortresses, the town-walls built around the city, the public squares, the church of Saint Nicholas, the church of the Maid of Cavtat and the Franciscan convent. Through the airport of Dubrovnik, Cavtat has excellent connections with the entire world. Local ship and bus lines connect the city with the towns nearby.
