It has now been nine years since the Ercegović family – Arsen and his sons Karlo, Paško and Roko – set sail in summer 2009 for the first time on their vessel, Columbo, and it is time to say goodbye to it. Since 2015, Arsen and Roko have been steering their new ship MY Mystic, while Karlo and Paško took up the captaincy of the Columbo. Last year, the family took the decision to build a new ship once again, a deluxe-class motor yacht. A buyer therefore had to be found for the Columbo; a buyer who would look after her with as much love and hard work as the Ercegović family did. Thus, from 2018, Ivica Rakuljić from Krilo Jesenice will take the wheel of the Columbo, a captain with over 30 years of sea-faring experience. Straight after primary school he followed in the sailor footsteps of his grandfather and father, who dredged sand from the seas in their vessel. As the crew on board their own vessel was already large enough, he took the decision to travel the seas on freight ships around the world. After 18 years he came back to his native Adria, transporting goods from the mainland to the Dalmatian islands. For a few years now, he has been captaining a motorglider, showing holidaymakers the delights of the Dalmatian world of islands. With his experience, Ivica will not only make a good captain but also an outstanding host who will successfully keep the Columbo tradition going.

Port of Trogir - Central Dalmatia

Port of Trogir

One of the most picturesque old towns of Dalmatia. Trogir – about 20 km north of Split, close to the airport. The old town is situated on a small island, which is connected by a bridge to the main land. Another bridge leads from this island to the island of Čiovo, upstream of Trogir. Due to its numerous monuments from all periods, Trogir is also called “Museum City”. It is a great experience to stroll through the narrow alleys during the afternoon or evening time. The massive walls, defence towers, churches, frescoes and vaults are simply astonishing. It is also interesting to take a look into the old back yards. After visiting the museums, treasuries, art collections and old libraries, restaurants, cafés, taverns and the typical Konobas invite you to enjoy a relaxing break. Seget, which is situated right next to Trogir, actually consists of two villages, Seget Donji with its superb stone and gravel beaches, and Seget Gornji, set a few miles away on a mountain, with its ancient stone houses. In short: Trogir and Seget are the ideal combination for a relaxing and exciting vacation.
