Many fascinating stories are being told about this ship – apparently even the Austrian Emperor Franz Josef was a guest on the Otac Luka. After captain Marin had bought his new vessel, MS Sveti Vid, he started his research for the best possible new owner for MS Otac Luka, the ship that he had been sailing the Adriatic with for more than a decade. With the Fumić family from the island of Pag, he found exactly what he was looking for. A kind family with a long tradition in fishing and sheep breeding. Their son Niko has always been convinced, that one day he would be a captain on his own boat. And so he spent the past years on different ships in different roles, from sailor to steward to learn every aspect of this responsible job. During winter, Niko studied to get the captain's license. He successfully passed the first exam and became captain with the final exam by the end of 2017. Niko speaks fluent English and he loves to show his guests his hometown, Mandre, on the island of Pag. There you can visit the family's farm and see the sheep, or go on a fishing-trip with Niko's father Lovre in the early morning hours. Due to the smaller size, the Otac Luka provides a perfect and unique atmosphere for smaller groups of friends or families. The MS Otac Luka is one of our most favourite vessels for boat-charters.

Rijeka is the third largest city in Croatia and the largest and most important seaport of the country. Rijeka is just a few hours by car from central Europe – public transportation (bus and train) depart from several countries on a daily base. The airport is located 30 kilometres outside Rijeka on the island of Krk. The city centre is close to the harbour and offers fantastic shopping opportunities, plus a number of cultural monuments and many places of interest. There is plenty of evening entertainment along the harbour road, the “Riva”.
