Stari Grad, the ferryboat port of the island of Hvar, is situated on the north-eastern coast of the island of Hvar. The town, once the capital of the island, has a lot of historical monuments and today is an important tourist resort with numerous bays with charming beaches. The various types of accommodation such as hotels, apartments and bungalows, the interesting gastronomic facilities with fish specialities and the sports facilities (tennis, basketball, soccer, water sports, scuba diving) attract every year more and more tourists to this 2000 year old town.
