Description
Built in 2004, MS Maček is considered one of the most comfortable steel hull vessels of our fleet. Due to wooden superstructures, MS Maček still emits the warm atmosphere of a traditional boat. Owned by the Vuković family from Krilo Jesenice for 13 years, her former captain decided in summer 2016 to sell the vessel to Kristijan Gulić, who used to be captain of MS Poseidon. We were very happy about this decision, because it was not only important to us that MS Maček remains part of our fleet, but also that she would get into the right hands. With her new owner, the vessel moved from Dalmatia to her new home on the Island of Rab. Since summer 2017, MS Maček is operating on our itineraries departing from the port of Rijeka. And Kristijan already proved that he and his new vessel are the perfect match.
General data: Length 35 m, built in 2004. 31 beds in 16 cabins with shower/toilet, hair dryer, safe, and individually controllable air conditioning.

Main deck: 1 twin cabin with separate beds, 2 double cabins with queen-size bed, 1 single cabin with single bed.
Upper deck: 3 double cabins with queen-size bed, 1 twin cabin with separate beds.
Other: Sun deck (200 m²) with 16 sun loungers and 10 deck chairs, tables with benches on deck for 31 guests, bathing platform with showers at the stern, saloon with air conditioning for 34 guests.

If you are travelling to Rijeka by your own car, you can enter the harbour from 09:00 am until 12:00 pm at the latest, and directly go to your boat. Here you will unload your luggage, which will first be placed under our care until the cabins are ready for occupancy at 11:30 am. Our service team will then escort you to the garage and transfer you back to the port. Afterwards, our representative will welcome you with a welcome drink and introduce you to the crew and the other passengers. During a snack we set off towards the island of Rab. After our arrival at the beautiful town of Rab, guided tour through the old town. The old town of the island’s capital of the same name with its striking bell towers extends on a narrow, rocky promontory, surrounded on three sides by water. Three streets cross the old town – the „Lower street“ with cafés and pubs, the „Central street“ with boutiques, souvenir shops and ice cream parlours, and the „Upper street“, which leads to the four churches with their bell towers. Dinner on board and overnight stay.

Riva Tours and flight arrival to Rijeka airport until 11:30 am, embarkation in the port of Rijeka is guaranteed. We leave the Kvarner Bay and set course for Dalmatia. After a swimming break and lunch on board, we arrive at Zadar, the capital of Northern Dalmatia. Upon arrival, our guide will take you on a guided tour of the peninsula's old town, surrounded by mighty walls. The guide will show you the most important sights, such as the Roman Forum, the round church of Sveti Donat, the cathedral of Sveta Stošija and the world's unique sea organs, whose sound and melodies are determined only by the waves. Today we visit one of the most beautiful old towns of Dalmatia – Trogir, where we arrive after lunch on board and a swimming break. Guided tour of Trogir, which is also called "museum town“, because of its old town which is under UNESCO protection. It is simply an experience to stroll through the winding, cobbled lanes and marvel at the medieval vaults and beautiful courtyards. Dinner opportunity in Trogir, overnight stay.
First we set course for the island of Hvar. The island is known for its mild climate and the extensive lavender fields. The harbour of the main town of the same name is situated at the foot of a fortress, from which you have a fantastic view of the offshore group of islands "Pakleni otoci". After about a two hours’ stay in Hvar and lunch on board, we head for the small island of Šćedro for a swimming break. Afterwards, we sail along the mountainous Pelješac Peninsula to Korčula. Korčula has one of the most beautiful old towns of Dalmatia and is often called "Little Dubrovnik“, because of its fortress-like appearance. After breakfast guided tour of the birthplace of the famous sailor and explorer Marco Polo. After lunch on board, we leave Korčula and set course for Dubrovnik, where we arrive around 5:00 pm. The distance from the harbour to the old town is just a few minutes by bus, which departs in the immediate vicinity of our ship. Departure approximately every 10–20 minutes, fare € 1,73 (at the kiosk) or € 1,99 (on the bus), last return around 1:00 am (state August 2023). Opportunity for dinner in Dubrovnik.
Today you will have the whole day at your disposal to discover Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is not wrongly called the "Pearl of the Adriatic“, as it was one of the most important economic and cultural centres of the Mediterranean during its heyday in the Middle Ages. Today, the old town presents itself to the visitor as a unique open-air museum with an abundance of sights. After breakfast, you will be taken on a guided tour of the old town, after which you will be able to discover and enjoy it on your own. Stroll along the famous "Stradun", take a walk over the mighty city walls or take the cable car up to the 415 m high mountain Srđ, from where you will have a unique view of the old town and the sea. Opportunity to have lunch in one of the many restaurants, dinner on board.
We leave Dubrovnik and set course for the island of Mljet. After a swimming break and lunch on board, we moor in Pomena or Polače. A part of the island has been declared a national park – two saltwater lakes (in the larger of the two lakes there is an islet with a former monastery) are only connected to the sea by a narrow channel. Opportunity to visit the national park (admission incl. boat trip to the small island with the monastery approx. € 17, payable on site). We recommend a bath in the saltwater lakes, whose temperature is always about 2°C above the sea temperature. Opportunity for dinner in one of the konobas on Mljet.
Today, we sail to the "forbidden" island Vis. The island of Vis was closed to foreign visitors until the end of the 1980s. Where once the runway of an air force base was, wine is now cultivated. Vis – with 45 km the most distant Croatian island from the mainland –- was able to preserve much of its originality due to the lack of tourism for a long time. After a swimming break and lunch on board we enter the harbour of Vis in the late afternoon. Opportunity for dinner in Vis.
We lift the anchors again, and after a swimming break with lunch we arrive to the capital of Dalmatia – Split. The main attraction of Split is the Old Town, which was built from the Diocletian's Palace. The World Heritage complex is home to 1700 years old Roman walls, houses, churches, cafés... places full of flair! After a guided city tour, there is plenty of time to relax. Opportunity for dinner in Split.
After about four hours, we leave the Adriatic Sea and sail up the Krka river. We anchor in Skradin, just before the famous Krka waterfalls. After lunch on board, we recommend a visit to the waterfalls. Boats depart from Skradin to take you to the national park. Opportunity to visit the "Skradinski Buk", with 800 m the longest and probably most famous part of the waterfalls. This is an impressive natural spectacle, as the Krka falls down in 17 steps with cascades up to 100 m wide. Entrance fee to the National Park incl. boat transfer € 20 € (April, May, October) resp. € 40 (June-September), payable on site. Opportunity for dinner in Skradin, overnight stay.
First we head for Šibenik. The most famous building in the fortress-like old town is the Cathedral of St. James, the most important Renaissance monument in Croatia. After a guided tour through the old town of Šibenik, we return to the Adriatic Sea and head for Vodice, a popular holiday resort. Dinner opportunity in one of the taverns or konobas in Vodice, overnight stay.
"On the last day of creation, God wanted to crown his work, and so he created the Kornati from tears, stars and breath," wrote the Irish writer George Bernard Shaw. They are the largest and densest collection of islands in the Adriatic Sea – 147 islands, islets and reefs stretch over a length of about 35 km. We pass through the Kornati in its entire length and head for a bay at its northern end for a swim, where we also have lunch on board. Overnight in one of the fishing villages on the island of Dugi Otok or the neighbouring islands.
Our today’s destination is the island of Lošinj, which is not only known for having 300 cloudless or only slightly cloudy sunny days a year, but is also covered with dense pine forests. With a little luck we might be able to watch dolphins playing in the waves today, because more than 220 dolphins registered by the Adriatic Dolphin Project live in the waters around the island of Lošinj. After lunch and the usual swimming break, we enter the harbour of Mali Lošinj with its colourful houses. Opportunity for dinner in Mali Lošinj.
We drive along the west coast of the island of Cres to a bay where we last enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic and our lunch before returning to Rijeka. Opportunity for dinner in Rijeka.

Rijeka is the third largest city in Croatia and the largest and most important seaport of the country. Rijeka is just a few hours by car from central Europe – public transportation (bus and train) depart from several countries on a daily base. The airport is located 30 kilometres outside Rijeka on the island of Krk. The city centre is close to the harbour and offers fantastic shopping opportunities, plus a number of cultural monuments and many places of interest. There is plenty of evening entertainment along the harbour road, the “Riva”.Sojourn tax and harbour fees are not included in the prices and are payable in cash on board upon embarkation. These are in the 2024 season € 42 per person and week, € 21 for children up to 12 years; in the 2025 season € 49 per person and week, € 24 for children up to 12 years.
Tip recommendation: You will certainly be happy to reward the service crew’s performance with a tip. We recommend an amount from € 70 per cabin and week.
