Postira - Island of Brač

Description:

Postira is a small village situated on the southern coast of the island of Brac. It had already been mentioned in the 16th century, but the first building (a castle) was built some centuries later. The very beginnings of the village are in ancient times, evidenced by the large square in front of the main church and the narrow streets paved with cobbles. The village is surrounded by rich Mediterranean vegetation on one side and by pebble and sandy beaches on the other. The sea is naturally very clean with an intense blue colour. Apart from the different types of accommodation (hotels, apartments and private houses), the village offers a rich variety of sports: basketball, tennis, bocce (boules) and water sports. In summer there are several cultural events such as “The postiran summer”.
Excursions: visit to the “Golden Horn” (famous  beach near Bol), to the hill "Vidova gora", to the valley of Blaca, visits to the cities of Split, Trogir, Solin, Dubrovnik and Makarska, excursions to the National Park of Krka, boat trips to the islands of Korcula, Hvar and Mljet (National Park).
