Mali Losinj, the biggest town on the Losinj Island and the largest town on all the Adriatic islands, was mentioned for first time in the XII century. The town exhibits a rich cultural and historical inheritance in its churches, but above all in a bronze statue representing a Greek athlete dating back 2000 years. You will also be able to visit the XV century tower which defended the port against pirates, the small fishing port Rovenska with its beautiful beach and the unique tendency typical of small fishing villages, the forest park and the famous air health resort "Podjavori". The village has maintained its style as a typical fisherman’s village. Along the numerous bays, with their fir forests, a long coastal promenade connects the towns of Veli and Mali Losinj. Mali Losinj is a true green oasis, in which you will be able to cure your health and to improve your psycho - physical condition, breathing the fresh air, admiring over one hundred year old stone walls, enjoying the limpid sea, observing the fishermen, admiring the dolphins, sitting on the top of the hill, from which you will have a beautiful view over the island of Losinj, or the nearby islands and the mainland. Become acquainted with the rich tradition and the preserved nature of Losinj, enjoy the home-made sheep’s cheese, home-made honey and olive oil, which is produced in an old oil gun which can be visited, or simply enjoy the delightful smell of the herbs. Apart from many sport activities you can also take excursions to the surrounding islands or go on organized boat trips.
