Captain Jure Tomaš and his MS Planka have been an integral part of our fleet since 1998. Since his son Marin had already been a captain for a few years, Jure and Marin had built a new ship for the 2016 season – the MS Aria. For three years Marin was at the helm of the Aria, while Jure remained faithful to his Planka. After he decided to sell the Planka, he took over the helm of Aria himself, while Marin is taking care of the family's next ship newbuilding – the "MY Alpha", which will strengthen our fleet in Rijeka from the 2020 season. The almost 50 m long Alpha will be an very comfortable and elegant yacht, offering plenty of space for each and every guest. And while Captain Marin takes you to the most beautiful places and bays of the northern Adriatic, you can get your holiday tan on the sun deck, relax in the jacuzzi, or enjoy a cool drink in the shade of the covered, cosy lounge area.

The MY Alpha is a new building for the season 2020. The photos shown here were taken before the interior work in the shipyard and after the launch in the home port of Krilo Jesenice. The cabin and saloon photos were taken from the MY Relax – the standard will be the same, but the actual appearance will be different.

Route

It is not easy to set up routes at the desk that would turn out to be ideal for the entire season. Once an itinerary is advertised in the catalogue, the captain must follow it. Anyhow, our cruises among a thousand islands cannot be as precise as the Swiss Railways, but rather go hand in hand with nature. How can the obligation of a tour operator, who needs to describe the travel program in a catalogue, be reconciled with the experience that it is often best to decide spontaneously to stay in a sheltered bay to swim, or to moor in a small fishing village, the name of which never showed up in the printed program? Just leave it to the captain – spontaneously and without any obligation to adhere to the usual routes – to create his route, depending on the weather and to show his guests familiar sites, as well as hidden secrets outside these routes. This was the wish of our captains, who often tell us – “The happiest of our charter guests are those, with whom we discuss the program and the route together.”
In order to make this possible also for our guests who book their cruises individually, and not as part of a charter group, we have listened to the proposals of our guests and captains and offer special Captains’ Tours, following the motto – “Let’s trust the captain – he will put together an interesting route for us, because ultimately, he knows the sea and the Croatian islands best!”

The city centre is close to the harbour and offers fantastic shopping opportunities, plus a number of cultural monuments and many places of interest. There is plenty of evening entertainment along the harbour road, the “Riva”.
