Description:
The dense forests, the beautiful sandy beaches, the vineyards and the olive trees make Jelsa and its surroundings one of the most attractive destinations on the island of Hvar. On the eastern side of the town there is the Mina bay, with its wonderful beach. And on the small peninsula Glavica you will find the beach Soline. The island Zecevo is a nudist beach which can be reached by boat. The town Jelsa has a long history in tourism which began in 1911, when the first hotel (Jadran) was built, and two years later the first travel guide of the town was published. Nowadays Jelsa is an important tourist resort thanks to the rich variety of hotels, apartments and campsites, facilities for practicing various kinds of sports (tennis, miniature golf, scuba diving, water sports etc.) and very good gastronomic opportunities based mostly on fresh fish, olive oil and wine from the island.
