For years the Škarica family sailed with the wooden motorized sailing boat MS Dalmatino on our routes from Zadar. In the early and late seasons, the focus was on our bicycle routes. A few years ago, the family decided to build a new boat in order to offer our guests more comfort. Already in spring 2015, the shipyard in Split started with the construction, so that the "Carpe Diem" strengthened our fleet in time for the 2016 season. While father Ante does not give up control of the Dalmatino, his sons Roko and Jure – both captains for many years – steered the Carpe Diem through the island world. And the "good soul" mother Nada not only takes care of the logistics, but also makes sure that everything in the galley is always in perfect order. The family's latest newbuilding – the "MY Voyage“, a vessel of the Deluxe category – has been launched for the 2020 season. Jure retains command of the Carpe Diem, while Roko has taken the helm of the Voyage.

Since the MY Voyage is a new building to be completed in early summer 2020, the images shown here are computer graphics or images of the MS Carpe Diem (saloon and cabins). Standard and equipment will be similar to the MS Carpe Diem, while the appearance will be different.

Route

Route:
Zadar – Vodice – Krka Waterfalls – Šibenik – Rogoznica – Island of Brač – Omiš – Split – Primošten – Island of Zlarin – Kornati Islands National Park – Zadar Archipelago – Zadar
Between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm boarding at the port of Zadar. If you arrive in Zadar by your own car, you can go from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the latest into the port and directly to your ship. Here you can unload your luggage. Our service team will help you to bring your luggage on board, which will be parked on deck until the cabins are ready for occupancy at 11:30 am. Afterwards you bring your car to the parking garage reserved by I.D. Riva Tours and return to the harbour on foot (approx. 700 m). After embarkation, our representatives will welcome you aboard with a drink and you will meet the crew and your fellow passengers. After a lunch snack “Cast off!”, heading towards one of the numerous islands, where we will enjoy our first dip into the sea. We will then continue towards Vodice, a bustling holiday resort. After dinner on board, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the evening with a glass of wine in one of the cozy taverns or Konobas.
The port of embarkation for passengers arriving by plane depends on the flight schedule. With transfer booking via I.D. Riva Tours and flight arrival to Zadar airport until 12:00 noon, embarkation in the port of Zadar is guaranteed. Passengers arriving later will be transferred to the first port of call for embarkation.
A few miles further south, we leave the Adriatic Sea and turn into the embouchure of the River Krka. We go upstream and anchor in Skradin, shortly before the famous Krka waterfalls. From there, smaller boats will take us to the National Park. You will have the opportunity to visit “Skradinski Buk”, the most popular part of the waterfall area, where in 17 falls, with up to 100 m broad cascades, the Krka rushes down 45.7 metres. Park entrance, including boat ride approx. € 15 (June–September approx. € 27), payable on-site. On our return to the Adriatic Sea, we will stop in Šibenik. The most famous building in the fortresslike old town is the St. Jacob’s Cathedral, the most important Renaissance monument in Croatia. After a brief stroll through the old town, we continue to Rogoznica, a pleasant holiday and fishing village, where we will spend the night. The village lies on a small island, connected to the mainland only by a narrow causey.
Today we will head to the picturesque seaside town of Bol, located on the island of Brač. Here you will discover one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Mediterranean area – “Zlatni Rat” (the Golden Horn), which is constantly changing direction due to the ocean currents. Of course, you will have plenty of time to enjoy swimming and sunbathing at this famous beach, before the vessel will take us to the small port of Bol, where we will spend the night.
Today’s first destination is Omiš, a picturesque town on the mainland. Omiš boasts a privileged seaside position and is located at the mouth of the Cetina river. In thousands of years the Cetina river shaped a canyon and created bizarre formations in the stone of the riverbed. The crystal-clear water, the high cliffs - up to 180 m -, the waterfalls and lakes offer sights of an unspoilt nature. Enjoy lunch on board and do not miss the opportunity to take a walk through this lovely place with its numerous cafés, bars and beautiful beaches. Alternatively, we recommend a rafting tour on the Cetina river or a three-hour zipline adventure at the canyon. The zipline comprises of eight cables with a total length of 2,100 m. (Booking and payment on site). Afterwards, the vessel will take us to Split, our next port of call. Split is Croatia’s second largest city and the capital of Dalmatia. The 1700 year old city was once the palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, and is today a UNESCO-protected site. After a guided city tour, you will have the rest of the evening at your disposal to discover the old town on your own and to enjoy the bustling Mediterranean atmosphere on the famous promenade of Split. Overnight stay in the port of Split.
After a swim in one of the marvelous bays at the mainland or the island of Drvenik, we will visit Primošten, a picturesque hillside town on a small island, connected to the mainland. In the evening, we will sail back into the island world and moor in the small harbour of the fishing village of Zlarin on the homonymous island.
According to the Irish author George Bernard Shaw, ”On the last day of creation, God crowned his work, and thus created, out of tears, stars and breath, the Kornati Islands”. The beautiful scenery, countless small and large islands, and the turquoise sea – all this makes the Kornati Islands a unique paradise. It is the largest and most dense archipelago in the Adriatic Sea – comprising 147 islands, islets and reefs, which cover an area of 35 km of length. We cruise along the entire length of the Kornati Islands and head towards a bay on the northern end for a swim. Overnight stay in one of the ports of the island of Dugi Otok or a neighbouring island.
Before returning to Zadar, we will anchor in one of the numerous bays to take a last refreshing swim in the Adriatic Sea. After arriving in Zadar, a local tour guide will await us to take us on a walk through the impressive old town, surrounded by broad walls. He will show us the main sights and attractions – for example, the Roman Forum, the circular Church of Sveti Donat, the cathedral of Sveta Stošija and the worldwide unique Sea Organs, whose sounds and melodies are created purely by the waves. Overnight stay in Zadar.
After breakfast, disembarkation until 9:00 am.

Location

Port of Zadar - Northern Dalmatia

Port of Zadar

The inhabitants of Zadar proudly call their city: “Najlipši grad na svitu” (“The most beautiful city in the world”). The former capital of Dalmatia is situated on a peninsula bordered by two “Rivas”. The side facing the mainland is simply called “Riva” – here ferries and passenger ships anchor and fishermen bring their catch ashore every morning. On the other side, facing the island, lays the “New Riva” – the perfect setting to stroll along the waterfront, where lovers meet for their rendezvous; since a few years, it is the only place in the world, where you can listen to the unique melodies of the Sea Organs. Embedded between the Rivas, you will discover one of the most beautiful old towns in Dalmatia. The traffic-free main street (called “Kalelarga”), with its boutiques and cafes, is the lifeline of the city. On both sides of the street, you will find picturesque alleys in which the “Klapa” intone their songs of sheer joy. Magnificent historical buildings, such as the circular church of St. Donat, the Cathedral of Sveta Stošija, the Roman Forum and many other fascinating places are waiting to be discovered!

Sojourn tax and harbour fees are not included in the prices and must be paid upon embarkation on board. These are € 28 per person per week, for children up to 12 years € 14.
