MS Dalmatino / Route ZB

Port of Zadar - Northern Dalmatia

Comfort Plus

Description

MS Dalmatino is another fine example of the warm and welcoming atmosphere on board the ships of I.D. Riva Tours. For 15 years, the Škarica family navigated the Dalmatino through the island world of Northern Dalmatia. As of this year, the ship has a new owner – Ivan Ramić from the Metković region – who enjoys the full trust of the former owners. Mario Čopac, known as Gof, has taken over the captain's hat. He is an experienced sailor who will continue to steer the Dalmatino through the blue Adriatic from Zadar. Together with his crew, he ensures a relaxed and enjoyable holiday at sea for all guests.

Impressions from the itinerary

Route

Route:
Zadar – Island of Molat – Island of Zverinac – Island of Dugi Otok – Telašćica Nature Park – Šibenik – Krka Waterfalls – Skradin – Vodice – Island of Murter – Island of Pašman – Island of Ugljan – Zadar

Between 11:30 and 13:00, embarkation at the port of Zadar. If you are travelling to Zadar with your own car, you can drive to the port and directly to your ship between 8:00 and 12:00 at the latest. Here you can unload your luggage. Our service team will help you bring your luggage on board, which will initially be stored on deck until the cabins are ready for occupancy at 11:30 a.m. You will then take your car to the parking garage reserved by I.D. Riva Tours and return to the port on foot. Our bicycles will be waiting for you in front of the ship. After you have selected a bicycle and perhaps taken it for a test ride, our tour guide will welcome you with a welcome drink and introduce you to the crew and your fellow travellers. Then it's time to cast off and set course for the island of Molat. After arriving in the fishing village of Molat, we cycle from the pier to the village of Zapuntel and back to Molat. Then we set sail again and head for the island of Zverinac. Overnight stay in Zverinac.
16.9 kilometres by bike, ascents and descents of 180 metres each.

If you book the cruise with your own flight, we recommend that you arrive a day early and stay overnight in Zadar, as boarding is only possible if your flight arrives at Zadar Airport by 12:00 noon on. A transfer from Zadar to the island of Zverinac is not possible, as there are no more ferry connections after 2:15 p.m. (May) or 3:00 p.m. (from June) (as of August 2025).

After breakfast, we weigh anchor and set sail for Božava on the island of Dugi Otok. The island's name, meaning ‘long island’, is no coincidence – with a length of around 44 km, it is often only a few hundred metres wide. We unload the bikes from the deck and set off for the Veli Rat lighthouse, which marks the north-western tip of the island. We then continue on to Savar, where we have lunch on board. After the break, we cycle through typical Dalmatian villages, pine forests and olive groves to Sali. We spend the night in this charming fishing village, known for its small harbour and authentic atmosphere. There is an opportunity to have dinner in one of the restaurants.
40 or 25 kilometres by bike, ascents and descents of 370 or 300 metres respectively.

After breakfast, we cycle from Sali to Telašćica Nature Park, an approximately 8 km deep bay in the south of the island. Here we take a bike ride past lush Mediterranean vegetation to the saltwater lake and the steep cliffs, which are up to 161 m high and offer a breathtaking view of the sea. After returning to Sali, we set sail again and enjoy lunch on board. We head south and reach Šibenik in the early evening. This is followed by a guided tour of the picturesque old town, after which there is the option of dinner in one of the restaurants. Overnight stay on board.
20 kilometres by bike, ascents and descents of 160 metres each.

After breakfast, we cycle upstream along the Krka River and stop in Skradin, just before the Krka Waterfalls. We cycle to the famous national park and Skradinski Buk, the longest and most famous part of the waterfalls at 800 metres. An impressive natural spectacle, as here the Krka falls in 17 stages with cascades up to 100 m wide. After spending some time in the waterfall area, we cycle back to Skradin for lunch on board. In the afternoon, there is time for a stroll through the picturesque town with its waterfront promenade, small cafés and views of the fortress. In the evening, there is the option of dining in one of Skradin's restaurants. Overnight stay.
15 km cycling, ascents and descents of 100 metres each.

After breakfast, we hop back on our bikes and leave idyllic Skradin behind, heading towards the coast. The approximately 35-kilometre stage takes us through the green hinterland of northern Dalmatia, past vineyards and small villages. Along the way, we enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the sea in the distance. In Vodice, we board the boat again and enjoy lunch. The afternoon is free for you to spend as you wish – perhaps for a swim or a stroll along the lively promenade. Dinner is on your own, overnight stay in Vodice.
35 kilometres by bike, ascents and descents of 320 metres each.

After breakfast, we set off on today's bike tour. The approximately 30-kilometre route takes us from Vodice to the island of Murter, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Our destination is the famous Slanica beach – one of the most beautiful bathing bays in the region with fine sand and shallow water. After lunch on board, there is time for swimming or walking before we end the day with a cosy Captain's Dinner on board. Overnight stay in Slanica or – depending on circumstances – in the harbour of Tkon on the island of Pašman.
30 kilometres by bike, ascents and descents of 180 metres each.

After breakfast, we set off on the last bike tour of this trip. From Tkon on the island of Pašman, we cycle across the narrow dam to the neighbouring island of Ugljan. In Preko, the main town on Ugljan, we board the ship again and enjoy our last lunch on board. In the afternoon, we reach Zadar. The city is a wonderful example of the Mediterranean flair of northern Dalmatia – a harmonious blend of history, culture and a relaxed lifestyle. After a guided tour of the diverse old town with its Roman ruins, Venetian alleys and modern sights such as the Sea Organ, taverns and restaurants invite you to linger. Overnight stay on board in the port of Zadar.
20 kilometres by bike, ascents and descents of 150 metres each.

After breakfast, disembarkation until 9:00 am.
Please note
The route may be changed due to local conditions and current weather conditions. This means that lunch may be served on board instead of dinner, or vice versa.

The route is also sometimes travelled in reverse order.

For your own safety, wearing a bicycle helmet during the bike tours is mandatory.

Port of Zadar - Northern Dalmatia

The inhabitants of Zadar proudly call their city: “Najlipši grad na svitu” (“The most beautiful city in the world”). The former capital of Dalmatia is situated on a peninsula bordered by two “Rivas”. The side facing the mainland is simply called “Riva” – here ferries and passenger ships anchor and fishermen bring their catch ashore every morning. On the other side, facing the island, lays the “New Riva” – the perfect setting to stroll along the waterfront, where lovers meet for their rendezvous; since a few years, it is the only place in the world, where you can listen to the unique melodies of the Sea Organs. Embedded between the Rivas, you will discover one of the most beautiful old towns in Dalmatia. The traffic-free main street (called “Kalelarga”), with its boutiques and cafes, is the lifeline of the city. On both sides of the street, you will find picturesque alleys in which the “Klapa” intone their songs of sheer joy. Magnificent historical buildings, such as the circular church of St. Donat, the Cathedral of Sveta Stošija, the Roman Forum and many other fascinating places are waiting to be discovered!

Sojourn tax and harbour fees are not included in the prices and are payable in cash on board upon embarkation. These are € 49 per person and week, € 24 for children up to 12 years.

Tip recommendation: You will certainly be happy to reward the service crew’s performance with a tip. We recommend an amount from € 100 per cabin and week.
